Republicans Slam Ken Paxton For Barely Campaigning And Nonstop Scandals
New video shows Paxton directly questioned about why he abandoned Texas for Iceland & England luxury vacation on America’s 250th anniversary
AUSTIN, TX — After taking the early summer off for a luxury European vacation with his mistress over the 4th of July, Ken Paxton is facing a brutal onslaught of friendly fire from Fox News and Texas Republicans for barely campaigning and his growing list of scandals, according to new reporting in the Houston Chronicle.
There is “growing concern in GOP ranks” about Ken Paxton, who told Texans he’s only working 17 hours a day to win this race – a different message compared to “candidates who typically boast of working around the clock or 24/7 to win a competitive race.”
Paxton was also directly questioned about his luxury vacation to Iceland & England that has drawn major criticism from Republicans,, and “his campaign didn’t allow [...] a follow-up question.”

There is growing concern in GOP ranks that Republican Ken Paxton isn’t working hard enough to beat Democrat James Talarico in the state's blockbuster U.S. Senate race, and it’s spilling out onto national TV for everyone to see.
“Where’s Paxton?” Fox News host Jesse Watters said on The Five just before Paxton took the stage in Houston on Wednesday for a rally. “I’ve seen Mitch McConnell more than Paxton and McConnell’s been in the hospital all summer. Get out of your hole Paxton and do something.”
McConnell, the Republican from Kentucky, was hospitalized June 14 and has missed every vote in the U.S. Senate since.
Conservative influencers have been raising a similar concern on social media. Link Lauren, who has 1 million followers on TikTok, rang the alarm last month about how little Paxton seemed to be campaigning and questioned his summer trip overseas.
"No more European getaways please!" Lauren wrote on X in July.
“I’m going to keep working 17 hours a day. Whatever it takes,” Paxton said to a round of applause.
The message differed from the candidates who typically boast of working around the clock or 24/7 to win a competitive race. And Paxton didn’t mention what happens the other seven hours of his day.
Regardless, the Republican told the crowd he has some catching up to do because Talarico got a head start in the race as he was stuck battling U.S. Sen. John Cornyn until the May 26 GOP runoff election.
Given that, the first question I had for Paxton was whether he had any regrets about going on a European vacation last month that included stops in Iceland and England.
“No, I had to see my daughter and granddaughter,” Paxton said with no other explanation.
His campaign didn’t allow me a follow-up question.
